5 Tools for Comms Professionals
Within the fast-paced nature of the communications industry, professionals need to be ready to adapt to new technologies and apps to ensure efficiency. That’s why we’ve put together our favourite Comms tools to maximise productivity so that you can stay on top of your work!
Asana
Asana is a web and mobile application designed to help teams organise, track, and manage their work. It’s an excellent tool for keeping track of your tasks, as you can organise your tasks into separate projects, assign work to teammates, specify deadlines, and communicate about tasks directly in Asana. It also includes reporting tools, file attachments, calendars, and more. It is customisable to suit your layout preferences and has cute little graphics for once you’ve finished a task. Download Asana to begin organising your work here.
Unsplash
We all know the perils of trying to find the perfect royalty-free image to go with our pitch. Luckily, Unsplash is a website dedicated to sharing beautiful, free, high-resolution images and photos that you can download and use for any project. You don’t need an account to use it, all you have to do is search the image you need, and hit download!
Snappr
Snappr is basically Uber, but instead of booking a ride, you can book a freelance photographer for affordable prices. You let them know when, where and why you need a photographer, and they’ll take care of the rest. Snappr will recommend the best-matched photographers in real-time. Your photographer will bring their professional-grade equipment to your location at your chosen time, and you can relax in the hands of an experienced creative.
Google Alerts
Google Alerts is an extension for your already existing Google account. You can get emails when new results for a particular topic show up in Google Search. For example, you can get information about news, products, or mentions of your name. To create a Google Alert, go to Google Alerts, and enter a topic you want to follow. You can change how often you receive the notifications, the types of sites you want to see, and which locations you want the information from. Hit ‘Create Alert’ and you’ll start receiving emails whenever they find matching search results!
Canva
Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a website you could use to make graphic design content without having to pay for the subscription fee and the training it takes to learn the software? Welcome to the world of Canva.
Canva is a free graphic design platform that's great for making invitations, business cards, Instagram posts, and more. Canva is great for creating social and branded content, as they provide thousands of free templates to choose from.
